Welcome to my new blog!

My name is Ronald Bagliere, and I'm excited to begin on a new journey with you. I've begun a brand-new website at http://www.rjbagliere.com, and with it, this blog, to document all the upcoming news with my books, editing, travel, and photography. I welcome you to join me and learn about all the exciting places I've been, some of which I share in my writing and photography. Thanks for your company, and happy travels!

  1. Hello to my friends out there. Lots of news coming your way. First off, I'm excited about my new website design that was created by Nicki Bovard. Great job Nicki on this. It looks beautiful. Second of all I want to bring you up on all the great things that are coming your way.

    And so the news:
I am currently running a writing class at the Dewitt Community Library here in Syracuse and it's been great seeing the response. Twelve anxious and eager students attended the first class and I know there are two more waiting to get there next week. This class is also going to be offered through my publisher - Fountain Blue Publishing as a Webinar in the near future and I'll keep you all abreast on when and how to get connected.

On May 11th I'm excited to announce that I'll be at the same venue in Dewitt giving an author reading of my novels with a chance to get an autographed copy. And I'm even more excited to announce that the narrator, Ms. Holly Adams, for The Lion of Khum Jung will be there with me, and we'll be doing a paired reading of one of it's passages. So mark your calendars!

I've also begun the preliminary work on the sequel to The Lion of Khum Jung and I hope to have it cranked out by the first of next year if not sooner. There will also be a third book in the series as well.

And my latest novel Starting Over is scheduled for a September release. Starting Over is a sequel to Loving Neil, carrying on the saga of Janet Porter's life. I'm very happy with the results and can't wait to see what my publisher comes up with for a cover.

On top of all this is regular life, and its keeping me busy. Thank heavens the winter is almost over. I'm so ready for Spring. There's birthday parties for the grandkids coming up, dance recitals to see, much hiking to do and pictures to take. Which reminds me, I'm creating a page on Pintrest for my photography so go and take a look if you get a chance.

Look forward to seeing you all here
    Namaste
    Ron

PS: Don't forget to post reviews for your favorite authors! They mean a lot to us. :)

  2. It's been a quiet week here, but I did get a chance to get out to a local author fair here in Liverpool. Picked up 3 nice books that I'll be perusing in the near future. Great show my fellow authors.

On Friday I had the unpleasant surprise of waking up to cold water. Long story short - a new water heater is sitting in my basement right now. Just what I needed - a $1500 water heater. The good news - I didn't offend anyone with smelly BO - LOL.

Meanwhile making progress on my new WIP. Yes, I'm back in Nepal with Frank and the gang and it feels great. I'm 32 pages into it and it's really got the juices flowing. Now to start setting up some interviews with folks and start getting into the research. I'll keep you all posted. Have a great week!

    Namaste - Ron

  3. Tomorrow I head to Toronto to meet Zeke O'Connor of the Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation to discuss my upcoming fundraising effort to provide a scholarship through the Mingma Norbu Scholarship fund which benefits the children of the Solukhumbu region of Nepal.

For those of you who do not know, Zeke and Sir Edmund go back 40 years and were the best of friends as they worked to help the Sherpa people help themselves. Needless to say, I'm excited to meet this man, and I'm anxious to get this fundraiser up and rolling.

Starting July 1st I will posting regularly regarding our progress and where I will be making presentations in and around town here so stay tuned. No donation is too small - whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated. And please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions regarding this opportunity to help the Sherpa children.

    Namaste
    Ron
